Have any of you tried Zetacap?

Suzanna, If you drink 8 oz. of water you will feel like you are full and don't even have to eat. I think the pills are a hoax. If you are eating your protein first then you won't need any pills to help you with fullness. Please try to eat the protein first and then follow that with veggies or fruit to make sure you are getting enough nutrients. I would hate if you were malnourished because of some kind of gel in your stomach. Please take care and try a balanced diet. We have to use our new stomachs wisely. I hope you will reconsider eating properly and not using any pills. Take care, (((HUGS)))

Honey this is a suppossed alternative to WLS not something that would be advised to someone who has already had it. I wouldn't dare try it without consulting your Dr first. The effects could be totally off on someone who has already had the surgery. I hadn't heard of it until your post and I went snooping around the net trying to find info. www.zetacap-hq.com look there on the first page it says that it's an alternative to WLS. Just be careful and first and formost talk to your Dr. Heather Open RNY 4-12-04

Her question is aimed for folks who have A LARGE STOMA not just your everyday RNY folks. A large stoma will allow food to pass thur to the intestines and a person will not get full and in turn consume more. In MOST cases this can not be fixed and the person will have a VERY hard time loseing the weight (diet and exercise is the only way). I think that you should call your surgeon and talk to him about Zetacap. Maybe it would be a good option for people like you with large stomas. Good luck to you. ~Sidney~ Open RNY 10-23-02

Definitely ask your dr. about this, but I would be concerned with how much that gel expands inside your pouch. If it is designed for people with normal sized stomachs, and the gel expands to fit that size, it could do some damage to your little pouch.
