Question:
I have been at the same weight for 6 weeks, why?

I am 6 months post-op and have been steadily losing until 6 weeks ago,I know many have asked, but could this be the extent of my weight loss?I only have 17 pounds till goal. I understand that the last 20# are the hardest! My question is mostly, can plateaus last this long?My calorie in take varies from 800 to 1300 per day, lots of water, moderate excercise.I am greatful fo this loss and all my health probs are gone, but most other people get lower than 167#. Natalie...You've done wonderfully. Sounds like you've hit a plateau, and yes, they can seem to go on forever. But one thing I noticed during many of my long plateaus was that the pounds may not be showing on the scales, but it did on my body. During one 2 month plateau I dropped from a size 14 to a size 10 and didnt lose a pound. Keep up the good work and dont get discouraged. Dreama

I hit a 6 week plataeu when I needed to lose about another 15 pounds to goal. You will get there. The plateau will break but it does take patience (something I'm not good at). I ended up breaking the plateau about 3 weeks prior to my tt. I got down to 10 pounds above my goal weight and the tt and a couple of weeks of not eating much when recovering got me down to goal weight and then an additional 5 pounds off!! You'll make it!!

Hi, I am 7 months post-op. I was on a platue recently and i just stuck to my water and ate like i usually do, it seemed to have worked for me. I lost 4 pounds suddenly. I too am close to goal and my weightloss has been crawling lately. Congrats! 249/161/?

No rhyme or reason why plateaus happen or how long they last. Some breeze thru with none and others coin themselves, "queens" of the plateaus. Your not done losing, not at 6 months post-op. Try shaking things up a little, if you eat 3 meals, go for 6 small mini-meals, if you do the same exercise, try a different type of exercise..I'd say shakeup your calorie intake but you may already be doing that. Sometimes just doing something different gets it going again.

Hi Natalie - I'm 5 1/2 months out - started at 233 and I'm stuck at 167 too! My goal too is 150 - from everything I've heard, we're right where we are supposed to be - even the getting stuck is part of the process. It's frustrating, but everyone else says it will pass - hang in there!
