Question:
Found a golf-ball sized lump under my scar line, next to ribcage

I can only feel it when I'm laying flat on my back and it is a hard "knot" right near the bottom of my ribcage, to the left, underneath my scar (my scar pulls to the left because of my previous gallbladder surgery). I am 10 months post-op. Has anybody had something similar?    — Beth B. (posted on February 21, 2001)

hi, i too have a lump about the size of a nickle in the same area, i go to see my doctor tomorrow and will let you know what he says...viola canton

Beth, I have the same thing. I began to notice it about 4 months post-op (I guess I was too big to notice until then).

If you're talking about the point at the bottom of your breastbone, it's called the xiphoid process.
