That's why I don't eat it. I dumped BAD on yogurt. I wished they'd make it with Splenda.

You want yogurt that has no ADDED sugar. It will all have some sugar content due to the fruit and the lactose (milk) sugar. I prefer the Blue Bunny Lite 85 made with Splenda. I eat one a day. I've been eating it since a week or so post-op (once I was on pureed foods...I would just use a bar strainer to strain large fruit pieces out). Dannon Light & Fit is another one folks have recommended. Go to www.bluebunny.com and give them feedback on their products and they'll send you terrific coupons! (I also eat their no sugar added ice creams, ice cream or fudgebars, bomb pops popsicles, etc.) - Anna LAP RNY 7/3/02

I buy Blue Bunny yogurt at Walmart. It is no added sugar. No fat. It has 80 calories, 6 grams of protein and 9 grams of sugar per cup. It comes in 6 ounce containers so that is two meals at your stage. I try to make sure anything I eat is 10 grams of sugar or less per serving. I also like another one that is more widely available. I can't remember the name that well. I think it is fit and light. It is in a Light blue container. It is available in either singles or a smaller six pack. They also make a new yogurt smoothie type. Make sure you watch the grams of sugar. Some of the smoothie types have as much sugar as a soft drink (50 grams). The blue bunny comes in several good tasting varieties. I absolutely love the Black Forest variety. It is chocolate with a hint of cherry.

Blue Bunny is wonderful! It's sweetened with Splenda and tastes fantastic. Most of the sugar in the yogurts is natural sugar from the fruit and the milk. I wouldn't eat it forever because of the high sugar content and I was so pleased to find the Blue Bunny because I love it.

All yogurt will have a fairly high amount of sugar grams listed on the container, but you have to remember to read the labels. Dannon Lit & Fit and Blue Bunny Light does NOT have added sugar. The sugar listed is from the naturally occurring lactose (which is dairy sugar), any fruit that is added, and the Dannon has added fructose for a sweetener, which is natural fruit sugar. Just be careful early on after surgery not to eat the one with fruit pieces...eat only the smooth yogurts. If you find a brand that meets our requirements but has fruit pieces or seeds, just strain it through a fine mesh strainer. Good luck!

Hi Michele, I was also told by the nutritionist to use fat free, sugar free yogurt. When I went shopping for it, I could not find one yogurt that did not have some kind of sugar. I called the nutritionist and she said that I should buy something that had the lowest sugar, and the aspartme was o.k. She also said not to buy anything that had any chunks or pieces of fruit. I have been using the Dannon Lite & Fit, vanilla flavored and I've had no problems. Hope this helps.

Like some others have posted, I use the Blue Bunny brand found at Walmart. I eat it every morning and sometimes at night for a snack.
