I have Tricare Prime, and I was approved for "excessive skin removal" and muscle tightning. The insurance codes read like that, 15831,15834 and 15734. I am using my civiian ps that also did my breast reduction, that was paid 100% by Tricare Prime. I can not tell you what to do to get approved, my ps office did everything, make sure you have a ps that can submit the correct documentation to Tricare Prime for approval. BTW, my tummy surgery is Feb 7th, I think if you just have skin removal it is considered a Panni, if there is muscle tightning it is a abdomoplasty. Good Luck, Tricare Prime is a great insurance to have.

personally I do not have TriCare , but I know a friend who does and I believe hers is approved- just so happened she recently found out shes pregnant with #2 postop WLS baby- so she is having to wait. Her yahoo ID is angelbaby76543. Her name is Kat and she is super sweet- IM her and talk to her about it- you can tell her I gave you her name. Good Luck! Toodles, Stacy

Hi Jennifer, I am actually a dependant and I work for Tricare. Once you are a year out and your weight has stabilized, get a referral to a network plastic surgeon. Once he has evaluated your excess skin he can send his assessment and request to do your tummy tuck. He needs to make sure he sends clinical notes and the diagnosis/procedure codes. A friend had hers approved in less than 48 hours.
