Question:
flu symptoms

I am 15 months out and all of a sudden have a slight sore throat and feel nautious, have a fever and either have chills or profusely sweating to the point my clothes are wet, since I cannot vomit I'm just wondering if this is maybe the flu or if anyone else has had anything like this    — acalderilla (posted on September 22, 2008)

Yup, sounds like you are sick. I'm not a doctor, but, I recommend some Tylenol for the fever and lots of fluids and a phone call to your doctor. Prior to surgery, I would have jokingly told you to take two chocolate chip cookies and call me in the morning, but..... that doesn't apply anymore. It could be viral, then no antibiotics will help, but if it is a bacterial infection of some sort, you will most likely need antibiotics. Either way, you really should let your PCP make the diagnosis. Best of luck to you, Dawn Vickers, RN, BLC, CLC

A lottttt of people I know are getting sick right now ... Whatever it is, it seems to be lingering. And the kids seem to be getting the worst of it. Listen to Nurse Dawn and CALL YOUR DOCTOR! Especially if you *do* start vomiting. Hope you feel better soon! *hugs*

Are you taking a good "liquid" vitamin / mineral supplement, one that will "jack" up your immune system and keep it up. Check out VEMMA. It will increase your blood anti-oxidant level by 10% and this is what fights off the flu etc. Go to www.TrySomeVemma.com

I would check with your Doctor, but it sounds like strep throat. I get it every year, and those are usually the symptoms that I start with. Don't wait around to get worse. Get treated as soon as you can. I hope you feel better soon.

Ok...I am ER nurse, no matter if "everyone else" seems to be sik, you have special circumstances and you need to be evaluated by your physician. period... You shold not be sweating that profusely and there could be a serious cause behind that. Don't take a chance, just be safe, hydrate, and get to your own primary care doctor TODAY ;o) Take care ~ Tomi
