Hi Jennie, Sorry you're having trouble. I'm very confused - I clicked on your URL but Username was zydeko47. Is this you? Also, tried to contact someone named Jennie earlier with a support group in CT but have not got response. -Barbara [username: Oakroom]

You need to make an appointment and go back and see your SUEGEON. You need to let him know that you have been eating healthy and exercising, but are not losing and demand to know WHY. May be he needs to do some x-rays where you drink that liquid stuff first, to take a look at your stomach and see if everything is intact and ok in there...... Go see him!

Oh Jennie - sorry. The support group leader was Lynney!! I've heard you just have to tough it out as far as plateau's go. I've just started and not having an easy time adjusting. SUCH a big change, although I'm enthused -Barbara [oakroom]

I would suggest you journal all of your intake for a week and take a look at the numbers, perhaps there is something there that needs some tweaking. Sometimes you'll find too many carbs or sugars, too few calories, too much sodium, etc. Also, even though plateaus are aggravating, hang in there as they are very important for your body to adjust to all of the major changes you are going through. Change up your exercise routine, do something different to engage different muscle groups, increase your water and protein intake and stay below 30 carbs per day. Focus on protein and veggies. If you are eating too little, your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to every calorie. If you can't figure it out on your own, please make an appointment with your surgeon and/or nutritionist. If you are following the WLS rules and are not losing, you need to enlist their help. Good luck, Dawn Vickers, RN, BLC, CLC

I am over 5yrs. post-op, and I lost approximately 200lbs. I used to go for weeks on plateaus. If you are following the right diet and continue to exercise, you will definately lose the weight. One interesting thing that I found, is that when I stopped worrying about it, and stayed off the scale for awhile, I would all of a sudden lose a lot of weight after a couple of weeks. Good luck!!
