Question:
PLEASE HELP!!!! I HAVE BEEN STUCK AT THE SAME WEIGHT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS.

I AM 11 MONTHS OUT RNY 3/17/2004. I HAVE LOST ABOUT 120LBS AND HAD NIT A PLATEAU. I NOTICED I CAN EAT MORE AND SEEM TO BE HUNGRY ALL THE TIME NOW. I THINK I ALSO EAT WHEN I AM NOT HUNGRY. I HAD GONE SOOO LONG WITHOUT DOING THAT AN NOW OLD HABITS ARE COMING BACK. I GOT ONT HE SCALE THIS MORING AND HAVE GAINED 7 LBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP SOMEONE WHAT CAN I DO? Carol, if you aren't currently doing so you should be drink 3-4 protein shakes a day with a total of 30 grams each (DON'T ADD MILK)

I was on a plateau for 2 onths and in the last 2 days have lost 4. I hope I am not putting a jinx on myself for writing this. It sounds like you allready know the answer to your situation, the nibbling when not hungry. I battle that every day. Old habit dye hard. Do you exercise? If not you need. If you all ready do, maybe you need to boost it up or change it around a bit. I agree with the previous post on using a protein shake. It seems when I drink 2 day I lose. When I stopped drinking them I quit losing. Weird. I was still getting in all my protien without the shakes, but not losing. Go back to basics, you can do.

congrats on your 120 weight loss!! That is soooo great! Just give your body a chance to catch up... it will , na d then will you start to loose more again if you need to... definalty exercie..... it reallly helps! and try eating fruit when you are wanting a snack..... and most importantly.... dont be so hard on yourself... you made wonderful progress!!! I had RNY on the same day you did and I have lost 127 lbs. I just went to the doctor for my follow-up two weeks ago and they said I'm doing awesome so I don't think you're as bad as you think you are. I know I can eat a lot more than I used to be able to also and I snack throughout the day. I end up with about 6 meals a day because I eat 2 or 3 protein bars as snacks. My scale seems to drop a pound a week or two now. I've had a few plateau's the worst being in November/December where I didn't lose for 5 weeks then I lost 6 pounds in a week. I've noticed I won't lose all week then all the sudden I'll lose 2 pounds in a day. I noticed my clothes get bigger and bigger even when I'm on a plateau. I asked the doctor about it when I was there and they said you're body doesn't lose weight and inches at the same time essentially. When you're on a plateau your body is catching up so that's when you lose inches. You sound like you're in the exact same position I'm in so don't feel bad!
