If you do not drink enought fluids (atleast 100 Oz per day) and eat enought protien (75 grams per day) you can lose some of your hair. Older surgery allowed more gain back then today's RNY WLS. The methoids of keeping the pouch small have improved the results grreatly over a number of years. Lap Band is another story. If you do not get the fills or eat or drinks sugar filled products you are going to gain your weight back. The surgery is just to add the bank and it is just a tool, that requires maintenance to work.

It doesn't matter if you are male or female .....you will lose some hair.....but you will lose alot if you don't get your protien in every day......but in the beginning that's very hard but after a few weeks out you should be able to get in in with no problems..... Most gastric bypass ( or WLS ) patients gain thier weight back because they start eating more and more and more a little bit at a time and it will stretch the pouch out and you can gain...and gain and gain...so you have to be committed....you have to eat what your told to eat....the surgery is on your stomach and not your head....so even after surgery you are still going to have the same issues that you had before surgery....so if you don't confront those issues and them them resolved early on then you have a good chance of gaining....but if you are committed and stay away from the foods that cause weight gain.....you will do great.

You will lose some hair. To reduce the amount of loss use a shampoo with "biotin" and take a powerful "liquid" vitamin / mineral supplement like VEMMA. You need a lot of protein and minerals. Vemma also has 1000 IU vit. D3, very important. Drink lots of liquids. Go to www.TrySomeVemma.com

If you don't get your protein in you might. It's almost always temporary and you can take hair and nail vitamins to help prevent it. Why do people gain weight back? They go back to the same habits that made them need the surgery in the first place once they can eat those foods again and their capacity has increased with the stretching of the pouch. It's usually "head hunger" or psychologically based hunger. Perhaps feelings of being deprived of foods you used to love. Our minds and bodies play dirty tricks on us sometimes, but if you are eating 60 grams of protein or more and eating vegetables and fruit (Mostly green vegetables is best) and drinking green tea, avoiding sugar, alcohol sugars, and white carbs, you shouldn't wind up too badly. I'd recommend consulting with a NUT. and counseling if you ever feel you are having problems. Stress is one thing you should avoid, so smile and keep the faith. :) Dusty
