Question:
anything else?

Does anyone know of any type of protein that you can mix with juice that actually taste good. If so what kind of juice and where do you get it.    — cuppaloopy (posted on February 9, 2010)

Have you tried the neutral or tasteless proteins mixed with juice you would get at your regular grocery store? I know Unjury makes one and I also know that many other companies do as well.

I tried the Unjury "unflavored" as well as the "strawberry sorbet" -- both awful. The smell like "feet" and you can taste the same thing. they didn't work for me at all. I'm drinking "Pure protein" that you get at Trader Joe's. (sell in 12 oz cans ur choice of 21g of protein or 35 grams of protein). 2 cans a day and i've met my requirements. I supplement with Pro15-ti Wild Berry or Peach Mango fruit drink. Both are excellent. (bought at my surgeons office). Good luck !

I bought the New Whey protein bullets at either GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe. They have 42 grams of protein in 3 ounces, and they are fruit flavored. By themselves, they're not easy to drink because they are kind of thickish (like jello after you stir in the cold water) and very tart.... but I added half a bullet to warm herbal tea. For instance, I drink Tangerine Orange Zinger tea, so I would add half an orange-flavored bullet to my cup of tea, along with one packet of Splenda, and to my surprise, it made the tea really good - nice and tangy and zippy. If I was drinking Wild Berry Zinger, I would add either the Blue Raspberry, Grape, or Fruit Punch to it, and same thing... gave my tea a nice zingy taste. I'm sure it would work the same for your juices (but I never drank any juice - too many carbs and sugars for me).

Hi Barb: Someone in my WLS support group recommended Profecta (www.protica.com) and they are protein bullets you can buy individually at your local CVS Pharmacy. CVS also sells Isopure (protein water). Both are not "favorites" of mine, but I found adding the Isopure to plain bottled water increases both my liquid intake while providing the necessary protein as well. The Profecta liquid bullet shots are anywhere from 15-30g of protein in a liquid bullet serving. They come in flavors and if chilled are a great "on the go" protein boost. Hope this is helpful.
