Bananas are one of the fruits high in natural sugar...They have about 12-18
g of sugar that could make you wicked sick...I could only handle a Tbsp of
mashed banana at the most...Be careful there or you'll be rolling in pain!
Go sloooow! :)

Everyone is different. I am 2 weeks today out from Lap RNY and tried about
1 teas. of mashed up banana. Left it in my mouth until it was nothing left
and did fine. I guess it is trial and error. Be careful.

Hi Latresha! I had the same surgery and I am on week 6 but when I was on
week 2 of my liquids I put banana in my protein drinks. I put a whole
banana in my protein drink and I didn't have any trouble with it. If you
want you could blend it with some milk. Just drink a little and then wait
to see if it bothers you but I had no problems with it! Good Luck!

I had banana in my first week post-op, I think it qualifies as soft food.
My diet guideline that began at 3 weeks allows a 1/2 banana. I have not
gotten sick on any kind of fruit, yet. I o had low potassium when I went in
for my surgery and was on prescription potassium(which I had to stop
post-op, pill too big) so I tried to eat banana as soon as I could.
