I thought that must be unique to me. I have the same problem. Stuff tastes bad or very different and I don't want to eat it. I used to like tuna. Now it tastes really bad. Stuff smells good then when I take a bite it is awful.I just stick to the things I can tolerate and wait to retry the others.

I had this problem as well. In my case it turned out to be a zinc deficiency. It also was at least partly responsible for my dandruff (which I'd never had before surgery), acne (gone since high school) and fluctuating eyesight. On my doctor's orders I added a zinc supplement to my routine and it cleared it up in a couple of weeks. It took about 6 weeks for the eyesight to stabilize and the dandruff to clear up completely. I'm still dealing with the acne and have had to increase my zinc per my doc.

I am having the same difficulty, and I am sorry to say it, but I am glad I am not alone. I also had RNY in Feb and I find eating a chore. Like you mentioned I'll smell something and I think that would taste great but once it hits my tongue I'm usually turned off immediately. As to the posting about zinc defficency I had not heard that before and I am seeing my nut this Fri and will bring it up. Thanks for the tip.

I had this problem too. Oddly enough, I tried things I did not like before the surgery and guess what, I loved quite a few things I never thought I would. Try something you didn't like and see if that works...maybe, maybe not...good luck!
