Question:
Does anybody have problems with stomach getting swollen and gain weight

I had gastric bypass two years ago and lost 133 lbs. Having problems now and put on 20 lbs which makes me disgusted!! I feel every once in a while my stomach gets distended and have almost like a "bad stomach, sour stomach" and I put on weight, does anyone have the same thing? Why is it so easy to gain weight and not lose?. Please help    — Reneeschoir (posted on July 26, 2011)

I have been experiencing the same type of issues. I can eat or drink and in moments look eight months pregnant. I am two years out from a gasterectomy from a booched up lap band surgery. I have recently undergone an endoscopy to make sure there is not any stricture or scar tissue causing a blockage. I have been diagnosed with gall stones but was told they are most likely not my problem. I understand your digusted feeling. I too have experienced a slight weight gain but it almost feels like a bloating more than weight. I am curious to know if you get any answers since I seem to get the run around.

I am only 5 months out and get a swollen stomach, no weight gain but no loss at times. I wonder if it is the artificial sugars I drink and eat. Do you ingest Splenda and Aspertame?

I am almost 125 years out and I am experiencing the same stomach swalling, sour stomach, tightness etc.......My 25 Lbs gain weight was due to menaupose and hormone inbalance which I am taking the right supplements for it right now. Also after undergoing extreme testing and exams I have a hernia which is the cause of the stomach swalling effects and tightness. Before I undergo my 2nd hernia surgery I must bring my blood to a "normal" level....I have a Vitamin D diffeciency and I am on 75,000 IU of Vit D3.....That also contribute to weight gain and disconfort........I can say I have hope since I am aware of my food intake and I no longer miss my Vitamins........I know I will loose the weight I gain.....The good things now is that I am maintaining my current weight and I am no longer gaining but I am back on track taking care of my healthy and eating right. I hope sharing my experience with you will help you and inspire you........
