What do I do for Low Blood Pressure?

I am 1 Year out and am very tired. My thyroid and Blood Sugar tests are ok. My Blood Pressure is very low for me though. My normal was 139/74 now 95/57..I get spells where I am so tired I cant stand it,I get shaky,my neck hurts, and I have some headaches and leg pain. I have been to my Dr 2x..going back again Thursday. Is there any other tests I should have him run? Any help would be appreciated, I have to work and it is hard being so tired..Thank You    — NANCY P. (posted on March 2, 2004)

This is low, has your doctor suggested a tilt table test? There is a drug for low blood pressure, but they only use it very elderly people. Do you take multi vitimans, and B12 especially B12 sublinguele, Im not a doctor but some of these symptoms could be low potassium or magnesium, Have both of these been checked? My daughter (non wls) was having similar problems and her magnesium was low. Magnesium playes and important role in your hearts functioning. Good luck to you and ask your regular doc for these test,(lytes) stay on top of it and let us know what you find out.

I have also had a problem with my blood pressure. It likes to drop to around 70/40. I get very dizzy and once was admitted to the hospital. Now, I eat salt when ever I crave it and I am holding steady at around 90/60. I also make sure never to miss a vitamin. I had days where I was afraid to stand up because I was so dizzy. I am a litle over two years out and dont notice it happening much any more now that I have upped the salt and am religous about my vitamins. Please keep us updated on what your doctor says! Have a great day!

when I was about 9-10 months out I had headaches and low blood presure and dizzy spells. My ears even felt funny. It turns out my problem was very simple. I wasn't drinking enough water. Just something to consider!

I also have very low blood pressure. Be sure you drink enough water and get some salt. My doctor told me to eat some salt everyday - not a lot - maybe half a teaspoon. I have asked my doctor about my blood pressure, and she is not concerned as this is apparently normal for me.
