Question:
I take my Flintstone Vitamin in the morning along with my nexium and have been having

a stomach ache about 10 to 15 minutes later. I usually end up in the bathroom in a quick hurry to "relieve the Pain." Afterwards I feel bad for awhile and was wondering should I switch vitamins or what? Any advice would be appreciated.    — TrevaDeck150 (posted on July 4, 2008)

My Dr told me not to take anything with my nexium so I wait a hour before I take anything else.

Try vitamins made for Bariatric patients, like Building Blocks from www.bbvitamins.com. I take other drugs with mine and don't have a problems. I found that my blood test were much better when takeing a vitamin that was designed to desolve and enter my system faster than over the counter childerns products. Hope this help you. Best of success to you.

I try to take everything separate and at least 30 minutes apart. I keep my vitamins and calcium in my pocket and that way I don't take it at once. I would think you are having a problem taking both together because of your reaction. Take your nexium, I would thing, first, and then work in your vitamin and calcium later on. It is work, but your absorption will be MUCH better if you take things one at a time and separately. Patricia P.

My doctor has me on pepcid and I had to take one of those each morning on an empty stomach and I had the chewable centrums as well as the chewable calicum --neither bothered my stomach from taking them about the same time. One thing for sure you don't want to take calcium and iron at the same time. What I do with these two -- I take an iron in the morning and multi-vitamin at work, I take another iron and multi-vitamin in the afternoon and in the evening I take the Calcium and any other vitamins late in the evening. Doctors don't tell us it's best to take vitamins at night so they will work while you are asleep and you're not pissing them out. I've had fitness experts and other exercise nuts convey the same information -- taking some vitamins before bedtime allows your body to obtain the effect of the vitamin. I see a difference.

I take Prevacid with my liquid B12, Effexor and vitamin (I take a prenatal because it has more of everything than most multi-vitamins) all together in the morning and don't have a problem.

you might want to take a liquid vitamin. I am a Distributor with Market America. We have a variety of Vitamins that are Isotonix. To check this out Go to www.marketamerica.com/kerrijenkins. We also have aloe that I use for stomach problems. This may help you.

You might try eating something with milk or dairy first...or take with a meal...and you will benefit switching to an adult chewable or liquid vitamin too. Take your nexium on empty tummy...I prefer Prevacid as it was the ONLY thing that stopped my Acid Reflux and helped my acid burned stomach and throat heal...I had a hiatal hernia too so it was quite awful for a while...Now I don't take anything...But every once in a while I feel that eruption about to start and I get that awful ache deep down...I take a prevacid ( I open the capsule, bu it does come in a suspension form too and it stops immediately) Then eat then take vits and see if that helps. Good luck!
