I was vomiting up blood also about 2 weeks after surgery, I had an
obstruction . Yes call your surgeon immediatly. I was dehydrated from
vomiting, had to spend the night in the hospital for iv fluids. It was
awful. I also had to drink that yucky dye, even though I kept throwing up(
I was told if i threw up the dye I would have to drink more. )Good Luck .

Vomiting blood and "black liquid" is never normal. The black
liquid is probably stool, so you probably have some type of obstruction.
Get yourself to the nearest ER and notify your MD

I think you are reading too many horror stories of complications...You
didn't have surgery yet, right? There are lots of weird little things that
happen after surgery to some people...but many of us just have the basic
minor problems that you adjust to or they work themselves out...Sometimes
it's a little tweaking from your surgeon. Some people have a little blood
in their pouches after surgery and it comes out as black stools for a day
or two...Vomiting could bring up some old blood too (reason it's black)
Bright red would definitely be something to worry about...black would be a
good reason to call the surgeon. Often some of these things just go
away...You will have to stop worrying about everyone elses problems or
you'll end up with an ulcer for all that worrying before you have surgery!
A little fear keeps you humble and grateful....but the fear you have is
crippling you. Keep researching...you will find that out of the handful of
those that have complications...there are thousands that have a smooth
sailing....

By no means should you ignore this. If it is still going on, you need to
see your physician immediately and if you can't go to the emergency room.
You can have a perforation or internal bleeding and you don't want that to
get into your abdominal cavity. Let us know how it turns out. Dusty @};-

This happened to me and I don't want to scare you but please call your
doctor. They figured it was an ulcer but it turned out to be my intestines
folded and my stomach bunched up. They had to do surgery and "tack
everything back into place". I felt HORRIBLE before they finally
figured it out and got it fixed. Not saying that is what is going on with
you but it could be and you should be sure it's nothing urgent!!
