I went on a plateau at 3 weeks and I didn't lose anything for about 3 weeks. I again hit another plateau at about 3.5 months. I guess your body needs time to adjust to the changes going on and that is why you don't continuously lose.

I did not lose any weight at all for the first 3 weeks. After that, I was a very slow loser with many plateaus in between. Stick to the plan and the weight will come off. It might just take a little longer than others but do not despair. Remember you just had major surgery and your body might need time to heal and adjust. Good luck.

At about 9 weeks out I had a stall for 3 weeks. I was trying so hard not to be a slave to the scale. I noticed that I was losing inches still so I didn't panic too much. Last week I started moving again in the right direction and lost 8 pounds!!!

Hi, Brandi your body is healing at times this will happen continue doing as you r suppose to and stay off the scale :) , it helps weigh 1x a week our body has alot of water and things have been changed drasticially. It gets scared and holds on for dear life. I had RYN July lost 117 pounds it is slow at times, you will loose inches, be patience it just starts to melt off. I moved my scale to a friends house I weigh about 1x aweek at times it is the same other times down 3 or4 pounds work your tool. Hang in their it is worth it and if that was u asking about the 5 day pouch u r ok that is for people out for quite awhile that needs a jump start. wishing u lots of success

Yes it is normal and will continue to happen throughout your weight loss journey. When you go for about 3 months with no loss (About a year or even two)...It's over...BUT, that doesn't mean you cannot lose anymore weight...At that point, you'd actually have to cut back on calories, and step up the exercise to continue to lose...I think too many people don't realise that once the weight loss stops, it's back to the old way of losing weight .... the slow way...But not a "no way"...You must give yourself at least a year to see the long term results... keep on track and following the basic rules of your surgery and you'll hit these slow times...but they catch up! It's a natural process in ANY weight loss...Even without the surgery...This is something that no one took the time to explain all those years pre op dieting...And so when we have these stalls/plateaus we think we are failing...because that's when we'd give up too soon on our dieting pre op! We DIDN'T KNOW it was actually working! It's working!

Its normal, just relax. Plateau's happen. Then you get back to losing weight again. Go back to your clear liquid diet for a while and you will start losing again. Try some light exercise like taking a short walk. Good Luck and God Bless, vinnigirl, retired RN
