Question:
4 mo out...unable to keep food down...feeling weak

HI I am 41/2 months out. About 11/2 weeks ago I got my period and started to feel really sick. My stomach hurt whenever I ate and so I was hardly eating. Protein shakes, water, food, anything made me sick. Well my period is now over and I'm still having a hard time eating. I randomly feel naucious even when I'm not eating. Hardly anything stays down, even soup. I'm starting to feel weak because I'm having a hard time eating. What should I do? Has anyone else gone through this?    — alojah82 (posted on July 7, 2009)

You need to get yourself to a doctor. I don't believe any of this is normal especially for the amount of time that this has been happening. Don't mess around get medical help immediatly.

I agree with above posts, you need to be evaluated. Kevin

Sounds like when I had a stricture. It is easy to fix. Just see your doctor. I too put it off for a while thinking it would get better. I got yelled at for that. You need to call if you have trouble for more than four days in a row, at least that is what they told me. Call today.

You will live! I am 10 months out and I havent been able to eat worth a crap since I had surgery. There are only a handful of foods that I can eat, everything else makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it or actually trying to eat it. Try some different foods then what you have been eating, then go back eventually and try to eat what you have been and see what happens. Some days I can eat chicken, most days I cannot for example. I have had 2 strictures so far and was also told by my surgeon that the food can go in phases as to eating them. But basically since surgery all I can eat is steak, only homemade soups, cant even think about restaurant soups or canned, and most vegis as long as they are fresh and steamed. Basically all other food will not stay down. And I am surviving just fine other than the fact that I am getting sick of eating the same thing over and over. I continually try to add new foods in every week, but to no avail it does not work. So far I have lost 152 lbs. Of course talk to your surgeon about your concerns and they may check for a stricture, etc. It may turn out to be something else, which is easier to fix then waiting out phases of eating such as my case. I wish you the best and good luck with your weightloss :)
