Question:
Hole in bottom of belly button the size of a small bebee (sp?)

I am 3 1/2 weeks out from a full tummy tuck. I have some questions to ask of the post ops out there. First, did anyone have any trouble with having a small bebee (sp?) sized hole at the bottom of your new belly button (where the BB and the stomach skin did not completely attach when the stitches were removed) that drained straw colored fluid? Did the hole eventually close on its own, and if so, how long did it take to completely close up? Lastly, I have some sagging skin above my belly button that I can pinch when I sit down, but when I stand up, it almost disappears. However, the left side sags more than the right side. When I bend over, it looks like I have two small boobs hanging down. Anyone else have this problem? Could it be that not enough excess skin was removed, or would it just be that the skin has not reattached to the muscle wall yet? THANK YOU for all your help and advice. I don't know about the small hole in the belly button, but I had a tummy tuck on August 31 and my new belly button got infected. It still isn't fully healed yet. I'm still packing it with gauze. I, too, still have skin above my belly button that hangs, but my surgeon told me, prior to surgery, that a tummy tuck wouldn't fix it. I am in college now and didn't have money to pay for anything so I just did what the insurance paid for and I'll have to go back after I get a job to have that fixed. Well, I hope you get some answers to your questions. Best wishes for health and happiness always.

Hi Tracie - I had body lift on 9/19. The biggest part being the TT - extended with muscle repair.. i have 2 holes below my belly button now. there was excess fluid in my abdomen that finally burst - resulting in these holes. i have been packing them with gauze for the last 3 weeks. hte bottom hole has almost closed up - hte upper one is much deeper - so it will take another 2-3 weeks to close up. you really want it to close up from inside out.. are you packing the hole? i would ask your doctor about it. on the sagging skin - ask your doctor it might get better with time but not sure. good luck with your recovery. its not easy... take care.
