Question:
Is it possible for me to re-set my pouch/stoma?

I believe I've heard this on this website that it could be done, but it was so long ago. If anyone has had it done, I'd like to hear from you, please. Thanks! Hadiyah, a.k.a.~~    — yourdivaness (posted on November 3, 2005)

If by reset you mean to shrink it to a smaller size, yes to a degree you can. I have on occassion had "coffee days" where I don't eat anything - or much of anything, and just drink coffee. If I do this for a couple of days, I will find more resistance when I start eating again. Now, I don't condone what I do sometimes because I know it's not an evened response to losing weight as we strive for, but it's just easier for me that way. The thing is, just like pre-surgery although we can shrink our stomachs (and pouches) back, they will also "give" quicker too and relax back with little pressure.

I think what I mean (isn't that strange to not know??) that some kinda' way (no pun intended), make or try to make the stoma, pouch or whatever shrink and get smaller ...retain the size it was at least about 6 weeks after WLS. Does that make sense? I'd give almost anything to have my pouch that size again. Even after 3 years, I still get the two confused...
