Question:
any support groups in the immediate Buffalo. NY area

My daughter is going to have RNY surgery and goes to Canisius college in Buffalo, NY, but her surgery is in Syracuse. Does anyone know of any support groups in the Buffalo area and when they meet? Any nearby towns would be ok too. Like North Tonawonda, or Amhearst, etc. Thanks for any input!    — gpcmist (posted on February 16, 2009)

When is the surgery? Make sure she goes through all the physical. Make sure her stomach can handle what is to come. It's not a surgery to be taken light. Just have all your basis covered.

Hi Kim, The best place to have this question answered is to find both the NYS forum and the RNY forum and post the question there. I'm sure you'll find someone who will know where the support groups are. Good luck and best wishes to your daughter.

Dr. Caruana's office has a meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. The next meeting is on 2/24. The office is located at Synergy Bariatrics, 30 North Union, Williamsville...phone number is 565-3990. It's a great support group meeting run by Lisa Naylon, a registered nurse.
