Question:
I'm 5 weeks post op Gastric Bypass and have only lost 14 lbs

I am following the diet and not cheating, but I'm a little disappointed at only 14 lbs. I lost 41 lbs before having the surgery.    — wnt2bthin2 (posted on August 30, 2011)

Hang in there. You just had major surgery about a month ago. There is still likely some swelling and healing going on. At my 6 week check up I had lost less than 15 pounds. Now 5 1/2 months out I'm down 100 (as of today!). It will come off. Your body is adjusting to a major change in your eating habits. Seriously - hang in there! It does get better!

Boy, the above answer is correct. If you weigh yourself everyday you'll go nuts. Your body weight will change daily simply because of water retention, etc. Just make sure you are drinking a lot of water. Weight falls off faster when you are hydrated.

Along with what the other posters are mentioning, you are losing inches. Be patient. It will come off.

You have lost an average of 3 lbs. per week. You're doing fine.
