Sharon, I'm 6'4 and 368 LBS. You are going to have excess skin, just as I am, however what I'm looking at is getting the excess skin removed after I hit my goal weight. I'm not going to worry about it now and neither should you. There are a lot of ways to hide the excess skin. Tom

Hi Sharon- I can certainly relate to your question. I am now 57 yrs old, and had WLS late march 2004. I am 6'1" and in december 2003 I topped 410! The day of surgery, 3 ,months later, I weighed in at 328! Before surgery, because of my PCP telling me i was diabetic, drop all sugars etc, I put my nose to the grindstone and lost a small ton. Today, 2.5 years later, I am below my surgeons goal of 185, but not at my own goal of 167. I was at 169 for about ten minutes- and my usual weight for the last year or so has been 173. I am more than satisfied with my results, however, I am hardnosed, and refuse to do anything not on my surgeons protocol, even this far out. it makes things easier, and I dont have any of the weight gain regrets so many get when they become complacent and start to add back in many of the foods that got them to the point of surgery in the first place. I will tell you, unless you have injuries prior to WLS, and are able to exercise, you will have no problems. I was in a wheelchair at the time of surgery, and continue to take Vicodin daily-which inhibits weight loss, and I still cannot exercise in the true sense. For those who have no physical limitations, the weight comes off faster. If you can go into this surgery and make a contract with yourself, that you are going to do everything you are told, eat only what you are allowed, and not become upset when you are eating out and everyone else is pigging out on junk, you will do well. I congratulate you once again on your decision to have this surgery. You won't regret it. Also, I would normally tell you to read my profile, however, with the profile gremlins wandering around, when AMOS changed their format in april, almost all of my profile went missing, and no amount of emails later with requests for help, it has not been put back, and my own puter crashed, so its all lost. My clothing size ranges from a 14 tall, medium/large depending on who makes the clothes. I hope this helped. Good luck Cindi
