You will be able to resume your normal (not bad habits) eating; only you
won't be able to eat as much. Some post op patients also loose the desire
for some of their favorite foods. But you will be able to consume most
foods in moderation of course. I was worried I wouldn't be able to eat
burrito's but I can. When you get past your recovery time and your phases,
those items will be pretty dry going down. So, again I can help you with
this in an email. I wouldn't advise forcing water in, your pouch will hurt
and it isn't fun. I am glad to see you are starting with phase one and
two. Good choice. It will take time though, remember it won't happen over
night. It also depends on how much weight you have to lose. There are a
few things that could be slowing down your weight loss. I would just focus
right now on getting through the phases and getting your pouch healed as
nicely as possible. You don' want to jump ahead, it will start to become
confusing for you. Take one day at a time.

I had my surgery August 13th, so far I have lost 46 lbs., however I am
still pureeing my protein. I can eat chipped luncheon meats, but a lot of
fish makes me ill. I do shakes still.
Good luck

Shrimp is one of my favorite and easiest to eat forms of protein. I can
also eat baked/broiled fish with no problem. You have to make sure that
it's not OVERCOOKED. At four weeks perhaps you've hit a small plateau and
this will pass in a few more days. Don't weigh yourself but once a week.
You most likely are losing inches if not pounds. Keep exercising.

I ate shrimp and scallops and fish at about 4 weeks out, not fried, and not
over cooked, but it is a lean protein and good for you. After time ,
moderation is key and life will be normal. Make sure you are not
dehydrated, as you will stop losing if you are. Best of luck! hugs,Kim
