Question:
What do I do now?

My surgeon sent in documents to get a TT covered and I was denied. I have Humana HMO Choicecare. The reason they gave was they do not cover anything obesity related. SO what can I do. I have a lot of pain and discomfort in my lower back and abdoman from the weight of the skin pulling. I wear gurdles so it doesn't hurt so much. Is there anything that I can do to get the surgery covered? I don't have any rashes, just lot's of skin and discomfort.    — Rosie W. (posted on March 3, 2004)

Rosie congratulations on your lose and dedication to maintaining it. I've seen your questions a lot and it seems that you've got to document all the problems the excess skin is causing you for a while (unfortunate) and try again. There are no magic # of trys - but I eventually do see results from most insurers. I'm not having that done, but personally know someone who fought almost a year to get it approved.
