I had a very similar problem. I went into mal-nutrition after surgery and initally the weight came off to fast. Then after hospitalization and lots of nutritional guidance things got better. But then no weight came off. I only lost 6 lbs in about 2 months. So I went back to my nutiritonist and really buckled down and I have lost more moderately since then. What also helped was adding one Revival Soy (low carb) protien bar a day. They taste good and really fill me up. I eat one instead of breakfast or use for lunch. I also started eating Revival Soy chips instead of potato chip- my big craving-and it made a world of difference. Maybe you can find some supportive products. I think Revival is www.revivalsoy.com also try www.bariatriceating.com

Your answer to your problem is two fold, one is the nutrition you follow, and everytime you lower your calorie intake your body will respond to protect you from what it thinks is starvation. so you need to up start your metabolism by increasing your exercise. It takes less calories now to run your reduced body weight so you have to work harder at it, so walk at least once a day briskly. preferentially before you eat (you burn fat 50% MORE EFFECTIVELY THAT WAY) Aand if you can do it twice a day for 40 minutes a time and you woill see some changes. All the best for 2006

Lydia, increasing the frequency, duration, intensity and variety of your workout program can help break that plateau. Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)
