Is it safe to have a COLONOSCOPY after RNY Bypass?

Can't speak for anyone else but myself. I had colonoscopy by my Dr. and everything went well.

I didn't have any problems, but make sure the doctor who performs it is well informed of your RNY.

I would just make sure the doctor who ordered it & the one doing it knows you had RNY Bypass surgery. I would also check with my WLS doctor as well.

The scope comes no-where near where you have been modified, so barring other issues, it should be perfectly safe to have a colonoscopy after an RnY.

Just had my second colonoscopy after RYN Gastric Bypass. The scope only goes a short way into the small intestine...not near the area where the bypass was done. It is safe. And easier to do the prep! LOL
