Question:
HAS ANYONE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH DR WIZMAN??
I AM ABOUT TO HAVE GASTRIC BYPASS (LAP RNY) WITH DR WIZMAN AND ALL OF MY RESEARCH HAS BEEN SHOWING ALL VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCES, HAS ANYONE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE OR SURGERY WITH HIM? SINCERELY, SCARRED STIFF — DAWN N. (posted on March 8, 2004)

yes two of my family members had surgery with doc wizman and one did ok and
the other not so good , he doesnt have a very good after program which is
very important and doesnt seem to give much attention to his patients from
what i can see , but i am just looking from my stand point if your in the
palm beach county area may i recomend dr.liem or dr. vaughnor dr.marema ,
one of my family members is alomost 4 months out and still having problems
please look closely before choosing your surgeon it is very important im
not saying he isnt good or capable but there are plenty of gastric bypass
surgeons who are wonderful also

I just wanted to echo the previous poster and say to be super careful with
your choice of surgeons. This is SO not the time to make a desperate
decision based on your desire to lose weight. Even if you have to wait ten
times as long for a great surgeon PLEASE do it. There are risks of
complication with any surgeon but some are just not experienced or
qualified enough to bother with and can put you in serious jeopardy. This
truly is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make so take it very
seriously.

Hi Dawn. I had LAP gastric bypass with Dr. Wizman on Feb 12th and I am
doing great. What I think that you should do is go to one of his support
groups. Many of the people there will be very positive about their surgery,
but some will have some realistic complaints. I researched many drs in the
S. fla area and decided to go with Dr. Wizman. I had the a lot of faith in
his lap abilities and in his office staff. I have found his aftercare
program to be very good, but that is just my opinion. Remember, Dr. Wizman
is only the surgeon, what you do with this surgery is totally up to YOU!!
You are the one with the power to make this work or not. But the other
posts are correct in that you should feel totally comfortable with your
choice of surgeons. Good Luck! Tara
