I would get any thing that they use for diaper rashes. And keep it dry. Do not rub but pat away any dampness. Let air hit it. Lay under a ceiling fan and let the breeze work its magic

Wear very lose clothing, NO underwear, Neosporin -alternating using and not using, it will heal it just takes time. Jenniffer a.k.a. Jonesin

I just had an appt. with the dermatologist and inquired about the area under my gut that now hangs down and he stated to use triple antibiotic ointment and to dry it out after that to use TALC ONLY. He stated that the cornstarch has carbs and then turns to sugar which if you have an infection will feed it. Also stated if an infection did not clear up then to use an otc for yeast infections on it and it would clear it up without a trip to the doctor. Also keep it as dry as possible. I myself end up with small scratches in that area that bleed so I know how uncomfortable it can be. Hang in there.

If the tear is enough, go get it stitched or stapled. But I doubt you meant an injury that big. My hubby echoes the advice of the other posters based on his vasectomy procedure. Dryness and topical antibiotics are your best bet. I myself used to get a LOT of heat rashes under my breasts. The poster stating her doc said get a med for yeast infections...it totally works! I used that alternately with Medicated Gold Bond and stayed in front of a fan as much as I could. In two days the literal blisters that were there had completely healed. If the wound needs closing by home methods, maybe using butterfly strips would stay on you better considering the area according to hubby.

Desitin Creamy is a lifesaver! You can get it at any pharmacy or discount store, like walmart. You usually have to look near the diapers or baby supplies. It is inexpensive and IT WORKS! Just make sure you don't get the original old Desitin, it works but it stinks. The creamy kind really doesn't have any smell and washes off with soap and water. One of the best things about desitin is that it promotes healing while helping to keep the injured area dry and that is very important.

I have the same problem when I sweat a lot. I use Vagisil cream for yeast infections. Thats the only thing that works. The also have a medicated powder you can use after it heals up. It is by Monistat. I use it everyday to prevent it. Hope this helps!

As a preventative (SP?*) That Monistat Soothing Care Powder Gel can work. I have also used Tea Tree Oil on the sores. I have never experienced such awful pain in my life as those sores and burns, etc. I get them constantly. My doc wrote out a scrip for a good yeast cream, and when my weight goes down more. Nip/Tuck there. I feel your pain, a week and a half ago, I had it so bad, I was crying, I took Tylenol and went to sleep.

Another good thing for it and all the rashes under the tummy and breasts is Micatin, it is for Jock itch. It cures yeast infections quickly. It comes in a tube, and also a spray. I wouldn't know what to do without that stuff. Rita

Sympathies, Maria, been there, done that, hated it!!!! After my surgery, I got nasty red sore skin where you have it and under my belly and breasts. It was summer, and I was sweating a lot. I got no relief from the OTC remedies posted here, but my doctor prescribed Lotrisone cream (generic is Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Cream) and that did the trick. I went from crying in the shower from the pain when the water hit the raw skin to pain free in one day, and totally healed in about a week. The cream is about $55 self pay at Walgreens, and yes, it's prescription only, but it's worth every penny! I keep it handy, and use it at the first sign of redness or stinging. Hope you heal up fast!
