Question:
How do you change your way of eating if you live with a skinny man that can eat

My boyfriend can eat anything and not gain hardly at all, I would love to get all the junk out of the house but I also believe that temptation will always be around and I need to get used to it. I am doing this for my health and this is my second chance, if I mess it up then it is my fault.    — speciallady (posted on November 10, 2005)

Willpower and determination. It's truly a choice. Best, Vanessa

Well if it makes you feel any better besides a skinny husband that doesnt worry about what he eats i have 3 small kids and I run a family daycare business in the home. WITH that my cupboards are FILLED to the brim with foods i cannot eat. HOWEVER, since surgery I dont crave these foods. SOMETIMES i think i had some brain surgery that i can truly not want this stuff. I survived a house full of chocolates thru the halloween time and my kids still have a mega large bowl of candy on the kitchen table....Its weird. I will not taste wrong things. I just go with the assumption im gonna get so ill and its not worth that. ( i might have dumped once on accident from chinese food) and dont want that ever again...as well as NOTHING TASTES as good as THIN FEELS! something a good friend of the board tells me regularly! GOOD LUCK LISA your not alone!

Heh...you are describing my situation! I just don't buy the crap (usually), and see....for some reason, no matter where we live the grocery store's doors don't open for men. Go figure! So he doesn't buy the crap either. It also helps when your stove doesn't work for men either, unfortunately the stove talks to the dishwasher and the dishwasher talks to the washing machine, and on and on it goes. :(

Food is a totally different experience for me now. I know I need my protein or else I will feel a bit sick. Then by the time I am done with that the bad foor doesn't even look good anymore cuz I know it won't even fit in my pouch. Believe me. You may not even LIKE certain things later on. My live in man is scrawny and binges constantly! It doesn't bother me a bit.

No one has mentioned this so i will. Talk to your boyfriend. If he does not love you enough to listen then drop him. Yes this will be your fault if you fail it but there are such things as enablers. Alcoholics have them so does obese persons. Take my husband for example I usto crave chocolate and cokes so he would go buy them. Knowing my butt is the size of Texas and I really don't need them (he is super athletic and runs 4-8 miles a day.) but he would do it because he wanted me happy. In fact when I began this journey to getting surgery he gave up chocolate and coke and sugar with me. You just need to talk. Your health is more important than any relationship that does not support that fact.

He can eat what he wants, but you can't! I suggest you buy only healthy food (no matter how skinny he is, good food is better for him). If he wants goodies, he can get them himself. Preferably, he can eat his goodies at work or somewhere other than your home. what I do is get goodies for my husband that I do not like. I do not like cashews or Oreos, so if I buy him goodies, I get them. I am not tempted at all that way! I find that so far junk does not appeal to me. If I put it into my mouth, it will be my own choice, so I just do not eat it.

get the junk out. Yes there will always be temptaions, but you don't need to torture your self in your own home. will power only goes so far. It is your health and if he loves you he will do what is necessary to support you and help you have better health. If he won't be considerate then you have a choice to make, Do you deserve this? are you worth it. Heck Yeah you are!
