This is very normal. You are losing inches. The pounds will come off. Just keep following what your dr. told you.

Sometimes, stress causes plataus. Just remember what the other person said. You're losing inches.

I did the same thing. I got tired of the "same old menu" and started not eating right. Once I got back on my equal portions of protien, starch and fruit/veg the weight slid off! I'm neary 5 mo. out and have had 3 2-3 wk plateaus, but I've also lost 90 lbs! Hang in there. It all gets easier.

You will lose again, hang in there. Make sure you are eating enough.

I was so relieved/happy to see your question and comments. Had surgery 2/16 and just quit losing 2 weeks ago. Everyone says I still am but the scales are stuck. I am not cheating and starting to become very down. Had never heard of this problem until now.

Does your doctor check to see how much fat, muscle and water you have lost? My doctor hooks me up to a machine each month to check exactly what I am losing - this last month I had only lost 8 lbs on the scale - however, his machine showed I had lost 13 lbs of fat! and gained 2 lbs of muscle and 5 lbs of water. The scale doesn't tell the whole story!

You just need to be sure you are eating what the doctor has said. That and exercise. If you do it will work. You may get stuck for a while but it will move again.

I am almost 6 mo. out and I have only lost 45 pounds. I keep getting stuck. The scale isn't moving! I am depressed about it. I will go for my check up next month. I am eating small portions, exercising 4-5 times a week.( I walk 4-5 miles or get on the eliptical at the club) Part of me thinks it stopped working - I get scared that it may be over. I still have 40 more pounds to go. I tell myself, at least I'm not gaining. (but it really doesn't make me feel better.) Why is everyone's weight loss so different? Linda

"Getting stuck" is normal. I got stuck at around -50, again at -75 and a third time at -100. Each time it took somethig different to break the problem. Early on I could increase my walking or gym time and achieve success. However, I did reach a point where nothing I was trying seemed to work. My option was to hire a trainer at my gym a couple of days a week for a month. I explained to hm the problem and what i wanted to accomplish; he pushed me harder than I pushed myself and it worked. I'm sure there is another challenge out there and it will likely take something new to work through it. Don't get discouraged -- get creative!
