Did you have your WLS 11 months ago??? I am 11 months post-op and my weight loss ans slowed dowm alot, however my inches are still going down. You have done well, maybe start keeping a food journal and see if there is anything you can change up. good luck...

I did that too. Look at my profile. I got back to basics. Started eating portions like a four year old. Went back to post op eating. Broths, jello, popcycles, protein shakes, yogurt etc. It jump started my weight loss and I have lost alot of weight over the last couple of months. Hope this helps you! Good luck!

I would increase the intensity of my exercise, keep an accurate journal of my food intake. Know too that things are going to slow down. I had my surgery last August and now I am losing about 5-6 pounds a month. This is a healthy loss. I also don't watch the scale everyday either. I have learned to just let things go on their own progress and not let it bother me if I slow down. Good luck on your journey.

You've done very well. It takes up to 18 months to 2 years to finally lose all the weight that you want to lose. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!By slowing down, your body is giving itself a chance to let the skin shrink and it is letting itself heal. You've lost alot of weight really fast and your body is letting all your organs adjust to the new and better you. A previous post said that you're losing inches. She's right. Now that you're losing slower, you're going to have to be more careful with what you eat and drink. Remember all the basics:food journal(I know-it's a real pain to do this), watch what you eat and the portion amount(this my problem area), drink your water, and excercise. Also, don't forget the protein. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point, you need to reevaluate what and how much you are eating. If any bad habits snuck in...clean them up (you know what they might be)! You might purchase a food scale now and start weighing meat portions/serving sizes so you know exactly what 3 -4 ounces of meat looks like...You just do not want to start eating more and more which is so easy if you've ever had eating disorders before. We all havethe capability to go back to old habits and some new bad ones (like grazing for example)...This is often what fails and not the surgery. You hear people compare the surgeries and try to make you believe their is better somehow...But fact is we are in charge of the surgery we have and if we don't set limits and make changes it won't matter WHAT surgery we have...Our surgeries are only as helpful as we allow them to be...The key phrases to all of them are moderation and prevention, diet and exercise and follow the basic rules. It's just about summer everywhere now...so take advantage of the weather and get out there and do active things outside!YOU CAN NOW in that smaller body! Enjoy it! Swim, take walks, hike thru trails, play golf, mow the lawn (I do my properties 3-5 time a week! UGH!) Go to the park with a frisbee and fav furry friend (that can be hubby, bf or even kids!) Some are furrier than others! LOL Just kick up your activity and you'll get that weight moving even if it is a little slower now that you are near the end! The body will automatically slow when it is near a normal BMI...and it's really up to you to give it that extra boost to keep it going. Because if you body has a choice and it thinks it does, it will hold onto an extra 15-20 lbs because it prefers that extra storage in case of another bout of famine! (That is how it percieves the last year of rapid weight loss) I swim/canoe all weekend at local lakes and rivers...I don't even need the gym or the gym fees to do these things...Or join a pool even or a gym with a pool! You don't feel yourself sweat in water! I love that! I can swim for hours without feeling like I am working out! But wow what a work out you get! You will see a huge change in your body over the next year as the skin tightens and fills back in with muscle that we lose with rapid weight loss...Good luck!

OMG... I am right with you 110 down and 50 to go. I just hit 11 months post-op RNY yesterday and I've been down for 4 days because I only lost 2 lbs last month. I really feel I need to go back to basics to restart the weight loss. I know my portions have gotten bigger... I'm even counting Weight Wather's points... seriously... If anyone has advice please share. Thanks!
