Drink more water, that is a major reason why people slow down the loss. If you tend to eat the same foods, change that around too. That will send signals to your brain to bump up your metabolism and will start burning the different calories in your body. Last of all, you might be at the end of the "MAJOR" weight loss. We all slow down, and once you do, you will be eating enough calories to maintain your weight. Hope this helps.

Don't think of a plateau as a bad thing. They are really a good thing. They give your body a chance to catch up, giving your skin a chance to catch up also. Plateaus can last months. Get the tape measure out and start keeping track of inches while not losing pounds you are losing inches. Don't do protein shakes get all your protein from food. (Unless you want to gain all your weight back several years out) Protein shakes are made to bulk you up not to lose weight. You have to eat for this surgery to work. I know thats ironic since this is how we got here. But this time its different because now you have a tool. Learn to listen to your body's signals. Eat small all day. small is less then a cup of food per meal, half sandwich, piece of fruit, etc. Eat slowly chew your food well give your body a chance to signal your brain that your full. You have to eat for your metabolism to burn. The first year out your body is still healing. Don't worry about how much protein your getting in just be sure to eat as much protein first as you can but if you can't then eat anything you can tolerate. The main thing is to not starve your body. This surgery is doing that already so eat small, eat all day. You not going to fail this time, this is not a diet, this is a tool that works. The slower the weight comes off the better it takes a good two years for it all to come off. I know its tough but look how long you have had the weight, Hang in there...

Hi! I'd say to talk to your nutritionist. I hit a plateau early on and found out that I was exercising too much and eating too little. I actually had to increase my food to lose weight. Best of luck to you ! hugs, kim

Wow Kimberly, you sound like a professional. Actually you sound like you got this lapband all figured out!! I wish, I had half of your knowledge and conviction. I'm about 7 weeks out and obsessed with every little thing about this "tool". Thanks for that info though, it was refreshing!! Have a great day, and keep on posting. Your awesome :-)

Believe it or not, the key to me getting past my plateau's was to eat more calories! My body became adjusted to the few calories it was taking in and went into "starvation mode". When I upped my intake, the weight started coming off again.
