You probably have a lot of water retention to lose so it could be up to a month, but...........you could be losing inches too and not realize you are losing.

I'm a month out and have lost 20 pounds. I was told as long as you are losing not to panic. Everyone loses at different paces. Continue to exercise, drink your water, and the weight loss will come. Good luck to you.

I am also 3 weeks out and have lost only 6 lbs since surgery. My surgeon said the same thing to me, that all the liquids they pumped into me while in the hospital takes a few weeks for some people to shed. I'm keeping the faith and trusting that the weight loss will start to show on the scale in a bigger way in a week or two. If not, I'll be calling the surgeon or discussing it at my 1month post-op appointment. Good luck.

slow is good! It will give you time to firm up any skin...I lost slowly at first and have very little extra skin. I know its hard to say to be patient..well ahrd to hear, but believe me, it will come off if you follow the rules and re educate yourself on healthy eating. Change your mind and it becomes easy. Best of luck to you! hugs, kim

I'm 6 months out and have only lost 26lbs. This obesity thing is complicated. I personally know bariatric patients that break all the diet rules and still loose tons of weight. Some people have it worse than others and can't loose no matter what they do.
