Question:
Gained 15 lbs. since RNY 2008....

I had RNY in 2008 and lost 1/2 of me (117 lbs.) until this past year I've gained 15 lbs. I've had breast augmentation but only about 2-5 lbs. at the most is from that... it seems like I can eat and eat and eat and not fill full. Have I streatched my pouch? how do I get back on track? I need something that I can see wuick results in order to boost my confidence again...I don't want to end up being the heavy girl again.    — * S. (posted on March 10, 2011)

Hi!I am just-ducky You got to be tough with your self I am three years out and I want to eat and eat also, but i look back over the last three year and I don't want do go back there because i see the good it has done me so I forgive myself and ask for the Lord's grace to get back on track, it is a day by day choose,am I going to disapline myself to do what is best for me or am i going to be lazy about it and give in to the over eating. you have to make up your mind no one else can do it for you. I will be more than happy to be there for you to support you in your success. The surgeons did their part know it is up to you if you succseed or fail. will be praying for you to do the right thing. just-ducky

I gained 6 pounds since December 2008 and my doctor suggested EGD with sclaratherapy. I had it done last Friday. I'm om clear liquid again for two weeks then I'm on liquids for 3 weeks then soft food... Like we did at surgery. They said my pouch was the same but the scpentor muscle at the end of the pouch was stretched a little. They put an irritant init to promote scar tissue and thus tighten it up. Ask your doctor if they recommend it for you

Wow I could have written this post. I also had surgery in 2008 and have also gained after my plastics. I am on my way back down. I had to get back to basics, protien shakes for 2 meals and 1 high protien low carb meal. I also went back to measuring and logging my intake on Fitday.com and of course exercising. I haven't had my pouch checked but once I started controlling my eating it seems to have shrunk back. Good luck to you

The best thing to do is get back to basics. Protein first, take your vitamins, exercise, journal what you eat, chew 25 time per bite, wait 5 minutes between bites and do not drink 30 minutes before and wait 45 - 60 minutes after each meal. Also do not snack during the day, only eat the three or so meals. Best of luck in getting back on track.

I am SO glad you wrote about this. I am 10-1/2 years post-op RNY and I can eat eat eat also and I thought I was the only one. I joined Wt. Watchers and have started losing again. I have never tried the pouch diet because I fear it wouldn't work with me (hahaha...ugh). I'm finding out, like everyone else, that just because we have this fantastic surgery, we can still gain our weight back if we don't watch ourselves. RATS! Good luck to everyone!
