I will tell you what works for me. I pretend that I had surgery yesterday
and I have to start taking ONLY protein drinks, water, and such, just like
a new weight loss patient. It opens up the "window of
opportunity" for me and I immediately start losing like before. I
even lose the desire to eat anything bad. Within a day or two I have lost
any excess weight I gained and I have the desire to continue a good eating
plan. Although some may say that the "window" of opportunity is
only available for the first 6-9 months after surgery, I believe it is
always with you because the pounch does not go back to being a stomach, all
we need to learn is how to use it. Good luck to you. Missy

You already know that the answer is to stop eating junk! Surgery only is a
tool; we need to do the rest!Good luck!

I too got off track and realize it isn't hunger - it's appetite - eating
and craving without being hungry, but the appetite is overwhelming. I
started reading posts here and decided to go on 3 day at a time protein
diets. I lost 6 pounds this week - and I'm almost 2 years out! I had 1/2 c.
cottage cheese with splenda, cinnamon and pecans for breakfast; 1/4 cup soy
nuts for am and pm snacks; an atkins shake for lunch and some beef
stroganoff (no noddles, rice etc) for dinner; and a slice of colby cheese
for evening snack. Lots of crystal lite and decaf tea (and OK a diet
pepsi). It still works! I feel so hopeful finding this out. And when you
stop eating the junk, the huge craving for it goes away. Just set it up and
try it for one day. Good luck!!! You can do it too!!
