Question:
is diarrhea a common problem, or should i call the doctor?

i understand that all i'm taking in for the first week after lap band is liquids...but jeez running to the head is wearin' me out.    — hedlok (posted on June 27, 2009)

I had the LapBand in 2005 and I did not have that issue. To be on the safe side of things, I would contact your doctor.

I had the same problem for the first week or so. It gets better. You are only taking in liquids. I actually had the same problem for a week before my surgery because all I was taking in was the HMR protein shakes. Good luck to you. You'll be yourself in no time.

I had RNY and had a small case of diarrhea. The nurse at the clinic told me to fix a smoothie and add a banana. I used 1% milk, dry protein, and a fresh banana.
