how much biotin

I TOOK THIS AMOUNT 3 TIMES PER DAY AND HAD NO SIDE AFFECTS WHAT-SO-EVER, I LOST VERY LITTLE HAIR / JUST HAD SOME THINNING BETWEEN 3-6 MONTHS POST...I AM NOW 16 MOS POST OP AND MY HAIR HAS COMPLETELY GROWN BACK IN (YOU MAY VIEW MY PICS TO SEE I DID NOT GO BALD : )....LOL

Do you mean 5000mcg instead of 5000mg? My doctor recommends 5 mg per day. I believe that's equiv. to one 5000mcg tablet.

Well, I am glad someone asked the question because i was some what confused about it too. I have been taking 3-6 per day because i did the math wrong. Silly me..... Thanks for clearing this up for all of us. Also, i started taking this about 6 weeks ahead of my surgery (tomorrow) to try and slow down hair loss, because my hair already sheds heavily. Seems to be slowing it down some. Hope this heads off the post op hair loss. Stephanie
