I was banded on a Monday and for the first couple days I felt terrible. That Saturday I finally slept through the night and Sunday I felt 10000% better. You will get there, one day at a time. Feel better soon. Kelly

Hi - My name is Debbie and I had Lap Band Surgery on Monday - December 10, 2007. I would give yourself a few days. Naturally - you will feel discomfort near the port site and you will have a sensation of fullness in your chest - like you have to burb - especially when you drink. I can only speak for myself - but - I have to tell you that after a few days - I am just sore (where the port site is and I still feel that pressure in my chest) - but it is not as bad. I am a severe diabetic - but my healing is good - Thank God. Just try to walk a little in your house and rest - rest - rest. I slept a lot. Tomorrow - Monday - a week after my surgery - I am returning to work. Hey - we all heal differently and if you have any major concerns - please do reach out to your doctor and team to help you through this difficult time. Better days are coming sweetie. Good luck to you. You are the very first person I answered on the site and I hope I gave you a little comfort. Take care and be well. With Best Wishes - Debbie

I had surgery Mon. Dec. 3. For the past 4-5 days I have felt back to normal. Actually better because of the wt. Ihave lost. It is so nice. Even 20lbs make a nice difference. I still have a little pain in my collar bone now and then. Crazy. some small little twinges in the port area but I almost forget or feel like I haven't had surgery yet. I am reminded because I feel full very fast. I am thrusty so that is a great reminder to drink drink. I have stayed very active so I think that helps the body heal and the mind. Of course if something doesn 't feel right call the Dr. That is why they get the "big bucks".

First of all congrad's on your banding...Please give your body plenty of time to heal. I started to feel like going for brief walks and going out to stores a good month after I was banded. Until then, relax and enjoy your time! God Bless you on your wonderful journey!!

hi shelly i got the band on 11/12 just over a month out. most surgeons sew the band on your chest wall muscles now so the band won't slip. if you haven't used those muscles it will feel more pain like you did too many situps thats how i felt . just take your pain medicine that the dr probably gave you and walk and move around. the pain should ease up after a few days. i am out over 1month and i still feel it every once in awhile. remember this is amarathon on losing weight not a sprint, and it is surgery , things are gg to hurt for awhile

Hi- I got my band on 11/26 and am still a little sore. Just to let u know the first 2 weeks I was absolutley miserable!! It was terrible and I was almost sure that I had made the worst mistake of my life! But now 26 lbs later and minus the staples I am great!:) So all I can tell u is to rest and take it easy. Good Luck ;)

I was banded back in may and I was not happy and very uncomfortable the first 3-4 days. I too was wondering what I got myself into - but after about 4 days, the uncomfortableness should subside. Walking helps a lot to get rid of the gas and to get the body used to the band. You will lose a lot of weight these first two weeks from just liquids, but once you start eating, you may plateau. that was not explained to me and I have seen many messages from banders who get discouraged at that time. But hang in there and you will see a continuous drop in weight. I have lost right at 50 lbs in my almost 7 months - at an expected rate of 2 lbs a week, I am about 6 pounds behind schedule, but it works and it was worth it. Sorry you are feeling yucky, but this will pass

After two weeks, I was working out hard, but everyone's different. Let your body rest- don't worry, the discomfort will go away.
