Question:
Abdominal tumors post-op

Has anyone had any kind of abdominal tumors post op? I had one hidden and attached to my small intestine and it ruptured. The surgeon said I could have had a small leak for years and I am really not sure?? Thanks..    — Robin (posted on January 23, 2009)

I had several small tumors in one area of my small intestine that I didn't know about; and I had DS so it was of major concern to me and my physician and surgeon. Thankfully it was removed with no complications and I am 21 years post op. If you have any type of tumor and if it is slowly leaking you really want to go to a doctor/surgeon and have it removed. They usually biopsy then remove depending on what they find. Keep me posted. Good Luck and God Bless, vinnigirl, retired RN

They should be able to repair the rupture and check for any additional tujors. once they are removed and the intestine repaired you should be ok.
