check out this web site www.perfectlysweet.com There are lots of yummy sugar free things there. I recommend the Sugar Free Jelly Belly's and the Root Beer Barrels, they have great ketchup and BBQ sauce. With all the really great sugar free things out you never need to eat the real thing.

I use protein shakes to control my sugar cravings. I HAD to use them, per my doc, and for the type of surgery I had, but I CHOOSE to use them as more than a "requirement". Whey has the marvelous side effect of dulling my appetite. Just another tool in the tool box.

Unfortunately I like sweets too:( So I started eating fruits, they are better than candy bars. Grapes and lately grapefruit. Tasty and good for me. Also helps with potassium and keeping me regular. I try anything in mderation and usually this works. Denying 100% of ANYTHING results in out of control craving and binging. So 1 or 2 cookies is OK, ta pouch full is BAD. This usually works....

So, why are you denying yourself something sweet? The worst thing you can do is "deny" yourself. It is better to give in and have a little..most of us can have some sugar without dumping. You can also try sugar free chocolates. Walmart sells a brand called carbolite which is pretty good. I also eat mini bite size chocolate chip cookies-there is about 1.5 grams of sugar per. If you can limit to just a few, your OK without dumping. I have found at 7 months post-op that to deny myself anything just leads to cravings. So, I give in to a few bites of whatever I want. Get it over with and move on...
