Question:
Does anyone take prescription seizure control medicines?

I have a seizure disorder that has been under control for two years; it took three years to get the right combination and dosages of medicines. I must take Dilantin and Lamictal daily - would this preclude me from WLS?    — debralb (posted on February 28, 2008)

I was taking Lamictal 100mg when I had my RNY on 11/26/07. I had no problems at all. Best of luck to you!

I finally got my seizures under controll for about 3 years. (Grand Mal) I asked my Dr. and he assured me that my med would be absorbed, I had to take liquid med for a while. You need to find out if you meds can be crushed or in liquid form. I had rny about 7 months ago and i have had no problem. It was probably my biggest concern. I have lost 100# and feel much better. No seizures either. I had to start off with liquid meds now i take them broken into three peices. Works very well. Good Luck. Let me know how you are doing. Add me to your friends if you want. Marsha
