So you've lost almost a pound a day...and you want to know what it up with that? Well how much weight did you think you were going to lose as fast as that? You are doing great. Your body needs plateaus to adjust the the rapid weight loss. I think we all expect this to move lightening speed in the beginning. We question if we are moving too slowly. But you are not. Those plateaus are important to your health...relax...and enjoy the ride...you'll see...it will all catch up...

I am in a similar situation. I am 6 weeks out and lost 37 pounds exactly. I haven't lost anything at all for two days. I guess that plateaus are normal. It is nice to know that I am not alone. Keep up the good work!!!

Plateau's can be discouraging, but I doubt this is one. Stay away from the scale for a while. Surprises are always fun. As long as you are going through the right motions, you are still on track. The longer you stay away from the ball and chain A.K.A. the scale, the bigger the number. Enjoy your journey.

Great lose so far, keep up the good work. YES, you hit a plateau, which some times can last up to three weeks. You body thinks you are starving it to death, so it is hanging on the the fat. Keep eating right and doing what your Doctor tells you, and it will start back up again. We all hit these, so more than others. I have it happen at least once a month and it does still shock me, but I stick to the program, and then the weight starts to drop again. Best of luck to you.

You're doing fine. Instead of weighing for the next week or so, get the measuring tape out and measure... at the end of the week re-measure. You'll see the wonderful results in inches regardless of what the scale shows. I have an Excel Spreadsheet I made to track my inches. If you'd like it please email me and let me know where to send it. I've measured three times including the night before surgery and have lost 56.88 inches.... That's 4.5 ft of girth... how great that will make you feel I cannot express in words. Good Luck

it's a temporary plateau. I just had surgery too (RNY) on February 1st 2008 and hit a plateau that lasted 15 days. It felt like it would never end, but it did, and so will yours, just hang in there!

Heres my solution that I learned after having the same problem as you, STAY OFF THE SCALE. I did this for 3 weeks and guess what, when I weighed myself again, I was down 16 lbs, so we all hit those peaks early on, it will go away do not get upset, try it and see what happens, put the scale away for a few weeks, its tough, I know but try it. Keep up the good work!!!! Diane

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, IF YOU ARE EATING WHAT YOU WERE TOLD TO EAT. AND GET YOU PROTEINS IN AND FLUIDS. IT WILL COME OFF, IF YOU TRY TO EAT WHAT YOU WERE TOLD NOT TO EAT YOU WON'T LOSE. SOME WEEKS YOU WILL LOSE ALOT OF WT. AND OTHER WEEKS NOT MUCH OR AT ALL. AND THEN SUDDENLY YOU WILL DROP A BUNCH OF POUNDS, AND EXERCISE THEY WAY YOU WERE TOLD TO. WALKING IS VERY GOOD EXERCISE. DON'T BE IN A BIG HURRY, CHILL AND JUST KEEP WITH THE PROGRAM AND YOU WILL GET THE WEIGNT OFF SOON ENOUGH. CON GRADULATIONS ON YOUR SURGERY. I HAD MINE 2/26/08. KEP POSITIVE MINDED. SINCERELY BRIDGET
