Question:
Will the surgery make you really sick?

You will feel a little discomfort from the gas they inject into your stomach. This normally is gone within a day. As for the surgery, I had no pain, yet some have had a little and they should give you some pain pills. Good Luck

I had no problems with my surgery. The gas made it a little uncomfortable..but it really was no big deal as long as you walk.

Carrie, It will be different, that's for sure. I know some people who ARE very sick after their WLS. Even 1-2 years out. I also know some people who flew thru with no problems at all. Then I know osme people, like me (and it seems to be most WLSers) who have some minor problems, but they are usually operator errors: Something I am doing (eating too many carbs/sugar) or not doing (not getting in all my vitamins and water) is causing me to be sick. I look at it, change it, and am better in no time. =) Your TOP 3 after WLS: WATER/Hydration (at least 64 ounces!) Protein (depending on your surgery type... shoot for 70 grams and up) Vitamins (depending on your surgery type, but take in everything your surgeon recommends, and watch your blood levels, tweek when neccasary.) Get them all in, everyday, and you will feel great.
