Question:
can i still have surgery with mess in my stomach?

Hello, I have lots of mesh in my stomach and had the surgery last Jan. 31. You will be able to have the surgery. Whether it is lap or open will depend on your surgeon. Mine was able to do it lap with the option of going open during the procedure if needed. I had GERD and haven't since surgery. I had RNY. I hope this helps you and I wish you the best. Cathy N

When you have your rny, you should not have gerd anymore. I don't have to take meds anymore. I think the part which makes the juices is cut away. If your food lays in your stomach, you may have gastroparesis, which is slow emptying of the stomach.

i had GERD and ulcers and all sorts of intestinal and stomach problems. I had my RNY lap in August and have not had a lot of problems and I am down 60 pounds
