Hi Victoria, I'm sorry, I know this isn't the answer you want, but I'm pretty much in a rut for breakfast. I always have one medium egg, scrambled easy, with some reduced fat shredded Fiesta mix cheese mixed in. Sometimes, I might put a very small amount of salsa on it, but most times I eat it with half of a Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Link. However, I just discovered the other day that you can find Greek-style fat-free plain yogurt that has more than 22 grams of protein and anywhere from 7 to 9 grams of carbs per serving (which is usually one cup). I found it at Trader Joe's in southern California. I've had two ounces of that a few times, mixed with sugar-free strawberry preserves (no protein, but only 2 or 3 carbs per teaspoon). You can also eat small amounts of oatmeal, cream of wheat, or malto-meal, with tasteless, odorless protein powder like Any Whey mixed in to help even out the carbs vs protein ratio. I've also heard of Kroger "CarbMaster" yogurt, but even though one of our local stores sells Kroger products, it doesn't sell that, so I don't know anything about the nutrition information. I just know that several people on this board LOVE it.

Smith's carries the Carb master also. The only yogurt that meets my Dr's approval is the 4 oz Fit & Lite diabetic friendly.

Hello! I was a big egg person pre-op also, and can hardly tolerate them now. It took time but I've made the adjustment to other foods. Try some of these items: Quaker Instant WEIGHT CONTROL cinnamon oatmeal tastes great! I cook it with skim milk and add extra skim milk afterwards and fresh fruit. I like strawberries the best. If you like sweet, add 1/2 packet of splenda; ~ 12 g protein/80 mg Calcium/233 IU Vitamin A. Also try SPECIAL K PROTEIN PLUS cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk, chopped almonds, splenda if needed;~16 g protein/180mg Calcium/466 IU Vitamin A. I probably add more milk than most for two reasons: moisture and added protein benefit. Lastly, try DANNON light and fit flavored yogurt mixed with a scoop of unflavored or flavored protein powder. I swear by UNJURY (online at www.unjury.com) it mixes well and tastes great~ 25 g Protein/430 mg Calcium/78 IU Vitamin A. I use it all the time! In a hurry?, if you are allowed, try a cup of decaf coffee with a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder. It fills me up and tastes great! ~20g protein/ 105 mg Calcium. I am 5 months out and still pretty finicky. One day I love the taste and the next it makes me gag. My NUT said to make sure you vary your diet by not eating the same things over and over again. It keeps your body working hard trying to burn the calories of new foods. I was also told not to watch calorie YET, but to concentrate on PROTEIN! I also watch Calcium and Vita A. I get enought Calcium most days without having to take a supplement and too much Vitamin A is not good because it stores in fat cells. I take a look at calories but concentrate on the others. I have several of other things I've tried but these have worked for me. Hope something works for you! Good Luck! LisaRae

I usually have my protein drink for breakfast (3 scoops of Metagenics Bariatrix Protein Mix in 12 oz water - 30 grams protein). But on those occasions when I do have solid food for breakfast: I have made a crustless quiche using eggbeaters and adding things like low-fat mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, chives, broccoli and ham, asparagus, sausage, or anything else you might want to add (not all of this, of course, just those things you choose to add). I also do cottage cheese and a little fruit (applesauce or pineapple - no sugar added, of course), or a yogurt.

I fix oatmeal (the real thing)and make it a little soupy so that I can add a scoop of whey protein. I then add a little unsweetened apple sauce. I do like eggs but this is kind of a treat for me. I also have a small bowl of Special K or bran flakes along with a cup of Lite yogurt.

Hi victoria, I'm 3 weeks po w/ realize band & I've discovered PB2(powdered peanut butter)at my Drug Emporium. I've only used it stirred into my sf maple & brsugar. It was great! I also wrap thin sliced meats around a lower fat strip of cheese, & add some fruit. Good Luck, Sandra

For me cottage cheese and a little fruit works just fine in the mornings. If milk is ok with you a 8oz glass of milk is 9 protien have a piece of fruit with it and your good for a couple hours.
