Hernia & WLS at same time

I had two hernias repaired at the same time I had my Open RNY. I was glad to get it all over with at once.

yes..Im scheduled for an Open RNY on A;pril 2nd and my surgeon said he will fix my umbilical hernia while he does it.

Im scheduled for the DS/bpd wls on 2-20-03 in Mpls MN by Dr Henry Buchwald and he is going to do the following all in 1 surgery: 1) the wls (DS/bpd) 2) fix a big umbilical hernia 3) remove my appendex 4) my gall bladder was taken out in 95 but I have a gall stone in my common duct that he will remove for me 5) a livery biopsy (he does this to all of his wls patients to ensure a healthy liver) So yes you can have more than 1 thing done at the time of a surgery. That was a question I had also. I have a hernia and I know it will need surgery on it soon. I am afraid that I will be turned down for WLS because of it. How can they perform surgery when you have a hernia in the way?
