Question:
I am 2yrs post-op & 6 weeks post partum and afraid I will not lose pregnancy weight.

I am afraid I will not lose the pregnancy weight I have gained. I gained a little more weight this pregnancy than the first, but was pre-op then. I don't think I can stand going back to protien shakes even though I would like to lose the weight quickly. Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.    — pumpkelina (posted on August 16, 2007)

I don't have any real answers for you, sorry. I'm heading in the same direction though. I'm due the end of December and I'm so concerned about not being able to lose what I gain. I'm trying to be very careful and hopefully I won't gain that much. Are you breastfeeding? This helps initially but in the long run you tend to hold on to some of the weight until after you stop nursing. Do you mind me asking how much you gained? I hope you don't have to much trouble getting off the weight. Good luck.

I gained a total of 45lbs, but lost 20 within the first week or two. I assume this was just purely from giving birth and losing excess fluid. So I have another 25lbs to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I was very concerned by how much weight I gained, but the doctor kept telling me not to worry I was just fine, so I went with it.

A friend of mine, after losing nearly 250 pounds) gained quite a few post partum pounds and was afraid she would not be able to take them off again. She did, it took a few months, but she did it.
