Hi Sybil, you should be ble to eat meat by now, my goodness it has been 2 years from your surgery date. I dumped on baked chicken for a while but forced my body to accept it by eating it.You want to lose more weight, try increasing your water & protein intake. Your pouch does not stretch if you eat meat. Try eating a chicken leg or wing. Best Wishes, Mickey

My dad had gastric bypass 25 years ago and he still can't digest red meat. He eats chicken/fish fine, but not red meat, he throws it up.... I know times are different now. I had surgery 16 months ago, lost 174 pounds total. I eat EVERTYHING. The meat needs to be moist and cut in VERY small pieces for me. I even eat hamburgers, with 1/2 the bun. You just have to keep trying. Eat small portions, that is the key. Good luck!

Hi I guess everyone is different I am 2 months post-op and I can eat all types of meat as long as it is moist. Take small bites and chew chew chew...eat slow... had a bad episode with a turkey wing though..too dry(didn't know now I do) Moisture IS the key!!!!

I'm about 1 1/2 years out from surgery and I don't have it as bad as you do, but I can't eat very much chicken or meat either. I get a stomach ache and feel like I should throw up, but I don't. It's very true what people have told you--keep it very moist and eat little pieces. I'm now cutting up any chicken in the smallest pieces that I can. I'm still eating ground meat (beef and turkey). Pull back a bit on the meat, but add cheese, beans or some other protein source with it that you can handle. Then definitely take your liquid protein. I hope that you get over this hump. I'm sure you will.

hi. im almost 9 months out and i was just saying the other day that i have a hard time as well with chicken. i dont and have never thrown up anything but i can only eat a tiny bit of chicken. i HATE it, where i used to love it before. believe it or not, I can eat a whole steak (rib eye or porterhouse med rare on the grill) about 4-5 oz big with NO PROBLEM. go figure. who would have thought steak would be easy to digest. but it is for me. i hate hamburgers but i love hamburg if its in a meat sauce. today im making chile with hamburg and beans. all protein. eat what you can and take your vitamins and you will be fine .
