Question:
Do you have Delta airlines UHC and did you get surgery? I am considering the sleeve .

HI I am in Atlanta and after researching drs here and elsewhere since my ins plan does cover travel etc.. I am considering Dr. Marema since he uses the spider one incision method and has only had one leak ever and no deaths. The stats of the dr here I have found to not be that good and none do one incision sleeves. I will have to pay surgeon and asst surgeon fees, 20% of the hospital bill and a copay.... One doctors office said my end w the drs office would be around $4500.( Dr. Macik)Sincerest thanks for reading and helping me.    — noegoshere (posted on May 13, 2012)

well i had the sleeve done by dr almanza in tiajuana, mexico. he is the leading wiegtloss surgeon for gastric sleeves....mexico has been doing them for 7 years now... it was ony 4500 for the whole thing...if yoou stayed at their recovery house...i opted for the hotel since my ex, who is a doctor, and his wife drove me there from phoenix..wanted to make sure everything was good at the clinic.....the hotel was only 55 a night and comparable to 4 or 5 star, gourmet chef for those who could eat...you get your broth there in elegant surroundings and the popsicles you want from the front desk..and privacy...shich you dont get at their recovery house! it ended up costing me 300 more since they found an irregularity in my heart and i had to wear a heart monitor for them to decide after cardiologist read report whether to go thru with it. they prescribed meds and there were no episodes during surgery..home and had stitches out with my family physician who was glad i did it...but now referred to cardiologist locally. Dr. Mario Almanza is his name. i would go with the sleeve since they take out the portion that makes you hungry... i have not felt hungery and am having to push to get all the fluids and protein in altho now that menu has opened up some it is easier...shakes now can count as fluids and protein and yogurt scores high on the protein count. i wish you luck what ever you do...you will be happy
